Pathways
At Kalianna, our Pathways program is designed to support students in their journey towards independence and success. We provide a range of academic, social, specialist and extra-curricular programs to ensure that our students have the skills and capabilities they need to thrive.
Our Pathways section is specifically for students who have completed year 10 and are aged between 15 and 18 years. During this time, students work towards completing their Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC), which prepares them for further education, training or employment by providing them with work-related experience, literacy and numeracy skills, and an opportunity to develop personal skills.
We offer a broad range of programs that cater to the needs and abilities of our students. Our curriculum includes literacy, numeracy, humanities, science, physical education, art, drama, vocational education and training programs, careers education, respectful relationships, camps and excursions, canteen program, and specialised programs including swimming, farming and fitness.
At Kalianna, we believe that community engagement is important. We actively encourage our students to participate in events like Bendigo Food Share, L's to P's VicRoads driving course, Bendigo Community Health, Bendigo Farmers Market, and Salvation Army food relief. We believe that these experiences help our students develop a strong sense of community and build valuable life skills.
Our Pathways program is designed to be hands-on and engaging. We provide additional support for students to develop the work-related skills and capabilities they need to succeed. Our students are involved in a range of academic, social, specialist and extra-curricular programs which are targeted to assist them in becoming independent young adults.
The Pathways Community at Kalianna also actively contributes to our school student representative committee and provides student leadership. We believe that empowering our students to take on leadership roles helps them develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed in life.
At Kalianna, we maintain a focus on developing a repertoire of skills that contribute to independence, social competence, and quality of life. We are proud to offer a program that prepares our students for success and empowers them to take on the challenges of the future.
