NDIS Navigator

ClassDojo-1423794829-1428742622-14287507

Kalianna has recently employed a NDIS Navigator, this role involves offering comprehensive support and guidance to parents, grandparents, and caregivers to enhance their understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). NDIS Navigators act as advocates where necessary, ensuring families are informed about and have access to NDIS-funded support services tailored to their children's needs. This includes facilitating communication, fostering relationships, and serving as a liaison between families, schools, the community, and NDIS service providers.

NDIS Navigators play a pivotal role in fostering collaborative practices between NDIS-funded services and educational institutions. They provide essential information, documentation, and logistical support for approved NDIS-funded therapists' onsite visits to schools, facilitating seamless integration of support services within the educational environment.

NDIS Navigators offer guidance and assistance to parents, grandparents, and caregivers in resolving any challenges or issues they encounter through appropriate channels. Their primary aim is to empower families by enabling a deeper comprehension of the NDIS, thereby maximising the available supports for their children.

It's important to note that while the NDIS Navigator provides expert guidance and information, the final decision regarding the necessity of advocacy and the utilisation of available resources rests with the families. Mr. Bush, as part of the decision-making process, will assess the family's needs and circumstances to determine the appropriate level of advocacy or support required.
